Key Characteristics of Quality Creep Feed

Digestibility and Nutrient Absorption: Quality creep feed contains low levels of anti-nutritional and allergenic factors. Improving feed digestibility is crucial for increasing feed intake in suckling piglets. The daily gain of suckling pigs at this stage significantly impacts the overall growth performance of commercial pigs.

Superior Palatability: Suckling pigs must readily consume the feed in large quantities to achieve optimal daily gain indicators. The RD-350 Feed Pellet Mill delivers 3–5 TH high-capacity pelletizing for producing palatable creep feed.

Comprehensive and Balanced Nutrition: Different raw materials contain varying nutrient contents and digestibility levels. Therefore, creep feed must be scientifically formulated and carefully prepared to ensure balanced nutrition.

Low Incidence of Health Issues: Quality creep feed minimizes diarrhea incidence. Indigestible feed entering the large intestine becomes a breeding ground for bacteria, causing rapid bacterial reproduction—the main cause of suckling pig diarrhea. Once nutritional diarrhea occurs, protein, electrolytes, vitamins, and amino acids are lost along with the diarrhea.

Minimal Weaning Stress: Weaning stress causes piglets to lose weight and growth stagnation. To restore normal growth rates and compensate for weaning stress losses, this must be addressed by increasing weaning pig feed intake and improving feeding conditions.

Purpose of Processing Creep Feed

The basic purpose of creep feed is to allow suckling pigs to gradually adapt to plant-based feeds. Excellent creep feed promotes the development of gastrointestinal flora and enzyme systems, preparing for later growth—not just achieving higher feed intake and maximum daily gain during the creep feeding process.

Raw Material Selection and Processing Technology

Raw Material Selection: Choose high-quality corn that passes through drum-type cleaning sieves before crushing to remove broken grains and dust. Select fresh puffed soybeans for short-term use. Opt for dehulled soybean meal with protein content above 45% to reduce anti-nutritional factors. Choose imported super steam fish meal for superior protein quality.

Processing Technology: Unlike traditional granulation or expansion processes, the use of advanced relaxation technology can achieve optimal maturity and expansion coefficients. This process not only inactivates anti-nutritional factors (trypsin inhibitors, urease enzymes in soybean meal) but also makes feed fluffy and delicious, attracting suckling pigs while achieving the effects of no diarrhea, no inflammation, and high survival rates.

Secondary Pelletizing Process: For pig feed factories without relaxation technology, a specialized secondary granulation process has been developed. During the first pelleting, steam temperature should be as high as possible (above 90°C) to ensure full mixing and maturation of raw materials and steam, making produced suckling pig feed easy to digest and absorb. During the second steam granulation, temperature should not be too high to protect heat-sensitive raw materials, ensure performance of functional substances, and avoid possible nutrient loss.

4 Tons Per Hour Production Line Process

Raw Material Receiving and Initial Cleaning: Raw materials for this 4tph pig feed production project mainly include bulk materials such as wheat, corn, and meal, and powder materials such as fish meal, stone meal, and bone meal. All raw materials are in bags and temporarily stored in the raw material warehouse after purchase. The pre-cleaning machine removes large impurities, while primary cleaning sieve and magnetic separation remove magnetic impurities, protecting equipment and feed safety.

Raw Material Crushing: The pig feed grinding process mainly targets pellets requiring crushing. Pellets in the crushing bin enter micro pig feed pulverizer and fine pig feed grinder machine for pulverization. The pulverization process includes fine pulverization and coarse pulverization. Fine pulverization is adjusted according to the requirements of different products and the amount of finely pulverized raw materials. The pulverized raw materials are lifted by the elevator and then enter the batching bin.

Batching and Mixing Section

According to the pig feed making formula quantity and batching sequence set by the system, raw materials are conveyed by the batching auger and enter the batching scale for cumulative metering. Liquid and oil are added from the oil port through the liquid and oil adding machine, and both enter the dual-shaft high-efficiency mixer together for mixing. After each material enters the pig feed mixer, the mechanical action of the blade makes the material gradually mixed uniformly.

Pelletizing and Cooling Section

Project products include premix powder and pig feed pellet forms. After the ingredients are mixed, a powder product can be obtained, and the powder product directly enters the finished product warehouse. After the ingredients are mixed, the pellet feed product can be obtained through the pelleting process using RD-400 Feed Pellet Mill.

The pelleting process uses steam modulation. The project uses a 0.5-ton/hour boiler to provide the steam required for granulation. The main purpose of pelleting is to improve palatability, increase feed digestibility, reduce animal picky eaters, avoid automatic classification of feed ingredients, and kill salmonella in animal feed. After the material is compressed, it enters the cooling tower evenly through the closed air device and the distributor. The cooling tower cools and dries the material by upwind air drying and automatically discharges the material through material level induction. Cooling is a physical process that reduces the moisture inside and outside the feed to the qualified moisture range.

Screening and Packing Section

The cooled pig pellet feed product enters the plane rotary grading sieve through the elevator to complete the three-stage sieve. The intermediate qualified product enters the finished product warehouse, and the powder under the sieve enters the granulator again for granulation. The upper layer screened objects (mainly the materials that stick together due to improper drying) are returned to the cooling and drying system for cooling and drying.

The finished products entering the finished product warehouse are packed into the warehouse after being classified by a vibrating screener. The powdery products that do not need to be granulated enter the finished product warehouse directly after the third process (mixing of ingredients) and are packed into the warehouse after vibrating screening. The vibrating screening of powder materials is mainly to remove powder masses. After being collected, the agglomerates are directly returned to the mixing system for reprocessing.
