Raw material receiving process showing automated equipment and conveyor systems in poultry chicken pellet feed processing plant

Poultry chicken pellet feed is a specialized material produced through multiple processes including raw material receiving and crushing, designed to provide essential nutrients for poultry while promoting healthy growth. Modern feed production technology ensures consistent quality and nutritional value. When used correctly, this feed ensures no harmful effects occur. In poultry chicken pellet feed processing plants, the material is formed into pellets primarily because pellet feed offers more stable nutrient content, which facilitates animal absorption and digestion, significantly improving feeding efficiency.

Importance of Raw Material Receiving in Feed Production

In the production process of a poultry chicken feed pellet making plant, raw material receiving serves as the first and most critical process to ensure production continuity and product quality. Efficient raw material handling systems are essential for maintaining feed quality standards. The main task of raw material receiving involves transporting all types of raw materials required for chicken feed production to the chicken poultry feed mill using appropriate transportation equipment. These materials are then either placed into storage for later use or directly fed into the chicken feed pellet production line after quality inspection, weighing, and inventory management.

For poultry chicken broiler animal feed pellet making plants, raw material receiving capacity must not only meet actual production needs but also utilize advanced technology and equipment whenever possible. Investing in modern feed mill equipment significantly enhances operational efficiency. This approach reduces energy consumption and chicken feed production costs while decreasing labor intensity, ultimately improving production efficiency. Since raw material receiving for feed is characterized by large instantaneous receiving capacity, receiving equipment must have substantial receiving capacity, typically 3 to 5 times the production capacity. Additionally, the form of raw materials themselves is more complex, with various packaging forms, which increases the difficulty of receiving raw materials to some extent. Therefore, choosing the appropriate raw material receiving technology is crucial.

Method 1: Bulk Truck Receiving

Under normal circumstances, most raw materials transported into feed processing plants by bulk trucks or tankers consist of grain stalks. After vehicles pass through the ground weighing system, raw materials can be unloaded into the receiving pit. A properly designed material receiving system ensures safe and efficient material handling. Fences need to be installed around the vehicle receiving pit to ensure personal safety while removing larger impurities. The gap of the fence grid should be approximately 40mm. Simultaneously, a suction hood should be arranged at the receiving pit with controlled airflow velocity of 1.2-1.5m/s, which effectively reduces dust. After raw materials are discharged into the receiving pit, they are transported to vertical silos for storage or directly to the crushing warehouse and batching warehouse through horizontal conveyors, bucket elevators, magnetic separators, and automatic scales.

Method 2: Pneumatic Conveying and Receiving

This method can absorb raw materials from transportation equipment such as automobiles, tankers, and ship warehouses, making it particularly suitable for receiving raw materials from ship warehouses. The conventional pneumatic conveying device mainly consists of the following parts: suction nozzle, material pipe, unloader, air shutter, fan, and dust collector. When the device is activated, under the action of the wind from the fan, the suction device can suck material from the cabin into the unloader, and the separated material will be discharged by the wind shutter to the subsequent conveying device. Currently, commonly used pneumatic conveying devices are available in fixed and mobile types. The former is mostly used in large-scale feed pellet manufacturing plants for poultry chicken feed, while the latter is mostly used in small-scale poultry chicken pellet feed production plants.

Method 3: Bagged Material Receiving

There are mainly two receiving methods for bagged materials: manual receiving and mechanical receiving. Manual receiving specifically refers to using manpower to directly transport bagged materials from conveying equipment to warehouses, stacking, unpacking, and feeding. This receiving method is relatively labor-intensive and has low production efficiency. Mechanical receiving involves transporting bagged raw materials to the chicken feed mill plant by car or train, moving raw materials to conveyors by manual transportation to warehouses, and stacking using machinery. This receiving method has high production efficiency and low labor intensity but requires significant one-time investment in mechanical equipment, resulting in higher costs. It is suitable for large-size animal feed pellet production machine lines for poultry chicken feed.
